Subject: Re: [Civic-Courage] Re: A question about politics?
I agree with the sentiments expressed by both Tim & Phillip on this.
Further down the worm hole, if we keep as a clear objective the
assessment of actions undertaken rather than ideologies promoted
I think we may avoid or at least mitigate the tendency when multiple
options are available
(i.e. a number of potential CC candidates) to settle for intention with
most broad based appeal rather than most courageous action
with measurable results or consequences. There are many talkers, which
we need as inspiration; however if inspiration is the fuel of action,
(and my gist on the discussion thus far is that acts of CC when
recognised & promoted will be the fuel/inspiration for others future
acts of same)
lets focus on those who walk the walk. I suppose a simplistic yet quick
reference measure could be "Did (**CC candidate**) only talk? or
walk...
Getting back to the below discussion, the above may serve to further
distinguish the difference between policy (more likely to focus on
action) and party
(often focused on alignment of ideology).
Cheers,
Amanda
